In March 2009, Veolia Transport and Ratp entered into Joint Venture in Asia and the headquarter has been set up in Beijing. The two partners are dedicated to develop the JV into a leader in the public transport market in Asia.

In March 2010, Veolia Transdev -- the biggest public transport operator around the world -- has been created through the merger of Veolia Transport and Transdev which is the 4th public transport operator in Europe.
